Goals: To assess how different media, selection of detail, and authorial bias influences our perceptions of history (ongoing)
Opener: Think of another historic event (besides the holocaust) that you have learned about in several different ways. For example, I learned about the Great Depression in the 1930s both in history class and from my grandparents (who lived through it). I learned about the attacks on the WTC on 9/11/01 from the news and radio while it was happening, but also from my friend who lived in New York at the time. Explain what you know about your event or time period, and then explain how learning about it was different in each case.
