Opener: When you infer something, it means you put together what’s going on from the details that you read. It’s like reading between the lines. Get out “The Veldt,” skim over what we did yesterday, and practice making inferences. What do we know about the characters in this story and the world they live in? What can we assume about them? Brainstorm as much as you can.
