Goals: To analyze how an author develops complex characters
Opener: Pretend you are Okonkwo, except you grew up in the Bay Area instead of pre-colonial Nigeria. You are being interviewed for your achievements for a biographical piece in the NY Times news blog (this is a well-respected and nationally read section). Explain who you are and what you value to the “reporter.” As I hand back your work from yesterday, you might want to look at it for ideas.
Handouts in Class: None (see yesterday)
Terms and Vocabulary: none
Work Assigned and Collected:
1. We went over the handouts, you filled them out with other people's examples, and handed them back in for a grade.
1. See the reading calendar. Be sure you take first-reading (WWWWWH) notes on the left-hand side for each chapter.
