Goals: To use annotation and close reading to help decode and interpret the meaning in a text; to explain how figurative language develops theme and character
Opener: Now that you’ve finished the play, revisit the idea of theme. Remember, from last unit, that themes need to be complex, universal, and something that relates to the entire text. What do you think one major theme is in Macbeth? Explain it thoroughly, and explain how at least two conflicts, types of characterization, or figurative language in the play supports your idea.
