I received my B.A. in Pre- and Early Modern Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2001. I began teaching high-school English in 2008, before which I worked a motley assortment of jobs ranging from picture-framer to cook. I joined the team at Westmoor High School in 2016, an exciting return to the school where I completed my student teaching for the credential program at San Francisco State University. I previously taught at Pinole Valley High School in Pinole, CA. I have been married for fifteen years, and my husband and I currently live in downtown San Francisco. I enjoy science-fiction, the redwood forest, cats, discussions about intersectionality, and the Oxford comma.
